Belgian symbolist poet Charles van Lerberghe wrote La Chanson d’Ève in 1904, then it was set by Gabriel Fauré (Op.95, composition between 1906 and 1910) for the song cycle of the same title.

What if Lerberghe was an artist of today living in this early 21st century ? And if he attempted to create his works on the same theme as La Chanson d’Ève, what and how would he do?
These 2 pieces are based on this imagination. When "La Chanson d’Ève" was written (by him and then by Fauré), it was just before the World War I, the dawn of the dark history 20th century which soon gets to nuclear explosion. Now, are we in the dawn of the 21st century which is darker than the last one or what ?

Le poète symboliste belge Charles van Lerberghe a écrit "La Chanson d'Ève" en 1904, puis Gabriel Fauré (op.95, composition entre 1906 et 1910) pour le cycle de chants du même titre.

Et si Lerberghe était un artiste d'aujourd'hui vivant en ce début du 21ème siècle ? Et s'il essayait de créer ses œuvres sur le même thème que "La Chanson d'Ève", que ferait-il et comment ?
Ces 2 pièces sont basées sur cette imagination. Quand "La Chanson d'Ève" a été écrit (par lui puis par Fauré), c'était juste avant la Première Guerre mondiale, l'aube de l'histoire sombre du XXe siècle qui mène bientôt à l'explosion nucléaire. Sommes-nous à l'aube du 21ème siècle qui est plus sombre que le dernier ou quoi ?
